Thread 4—A new investigation that actually follows the evidence.

      Like the second thread, the fourth one contained only two messages. The first was from E, who bluntly proclaimed that his predictions would come true:

Mine will.

    He then elaborated his view of the evils of misusing the scientific method, hiding evidence from the public, and putting theories before evidence. If E predicted anything in this off-point lecture, it may have been at the very end: “There is nothing that can stop the truth from outing this time.” Here is a shortened version of E’s post.

The investigation of the JFK assassination got off track when too many of those who believed there was a conspiracy to assassinate the President were taken in by a clever (but not intelligent or rational) nutcase and charlatan who purported to apply the “scientific method” to the assassination of JFK. [The “nutcase and charlatan” is not named.]

The assassination of JFK was a crime, and it has a solution. Nothing related to the crime should be treated as a “theory” unless all interpretations, including the lone nut hypothesis, are treated as theories as well. [Totally at odds with scientific procedures.]

The fallacy of positing a “theory” of the assassination is that the theorists commit to an explanation instead of allowing the evidence to lead to the solution. Thus, the medical theorists have looked for medical "evidence" to validate their theories (which, even if they could be proven--and they *never* can) would tell us nothing about who killed JFK. The “CIA” theorists (Fonzi, Newman) have looked for CIA evidence; the mob theorists (Blakey, Davis, Scheim) have looked for mob evidence, FBI/Hoover theorists have looked at for FBI evidence, and the lone nut theorists HAVE LOOKED ONLY FOR EVIDENCE AGAINST LEE HARVEY OSWALD. [About as false as any accusation can be.]

Only with the advent of a new kind of investigation--one which reviews the previously secret documents of all these groups has the investigation gotten back on track. Government documents from the FBI, CIA, Cuban exiles, military and Dallas police have *all* pointed to A GROUP OF SUSPECTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CIA, THE FBI, THE MILITARY, AND THE CUBAN EXILE GROUP DRE. [Still no names.]

The time of the lone nut theory has passed. Whether this month, this year, or this decade, the history of the conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy is in its final rewrite. There is nothing that can stop the truth from outing this time. [The prediction.]

      In the second message, JM restated that she was open to conspiracy as long as the evidence is solid. She was eagerly awaiting E’s answers:

“E,” I am not the conventional LNer. If real evidence is found and proves a conspiracy I will be all ears. As I stated to you earlier, I communicate with mostly CTers as I try to understand what they know and why they believe there is one. Unfortunately, while they have shared their suspicions, none have yet provided the total provable case for a conspiracy. So I will be looking for the great revelation of a conspiracy from you. But please understand, saying it don't make it so.
