Subj: "Garrison Tapes" Errors Section: To: Jean Davison, 72733,3516 Wednesday, January 25, 1995 11:48:20 PM From: Yes, much better correction on the map this time. I hope to scan in that map from the Lattimer book this weekend if I can figure out how to set the hand scanner for line art. I hope you realize the difference between using the article "the" instead of "a." And the difference between the term "fingerprint" and "palmprint" is vast and very important. Garrison may have been very technically accurate when he stated that Oswald's FINGERPRINTS were not found on the boxes. Thus you are probably incorrect to say that his statement was wrong. Oswald's FINGERPRINTS were not found on the boxes. Whether fingerprints are better for identification than palmprints is not the issue. The issue is that you unfairly stated that Garrison's statement was WRONG. What you should have said and what I would have agreed with is that Garrison's statement was MISLEADING. Same with his characterization of the paraffin test. It did not prove that Oswald had not fired a rifle that day. Neither did it prove that he had fired a rifle that day. Have you seen the photos of the items seized at the Paine's house? Are you able or not able to see the photographic equipment? Have you examined a list of the items seized? Do you know the value of those items? The issue was never that there were any items of photographic equipment seized. The issue was the value of those items seized. What was the value of the items seized? Yes, I am sure that the Minox was Paine's. But it was one of the items seized, wasn't it? I don't mind your pointing out your opinion that Shaw had nothing to do with the case. I happen to agree. What I was pointing out was the flaw in your logic that if Shaw was involved that therefore Oswald had to be involved. Do you understand that point? Even if Oswald WAS Shaw's lover, that does not prove that Shaw was involved in the assassination. If Ferrie was Shaw's lover and Oswald was Ferrie's lover, that does not prove that Shaw was Oswald's lover. IMHO. Which video do you mean? If you mean the HSCA video, I thought it was clear that Groden dubbed the sound of TEST SHOTS onto the COPY of the DPD tape to synchronize it with the Zapruder film. Was that not obvious at the public hearing or do you think that some people were confused by that? I was not there live to see/hear it, so I can only rely on what others say about it. Tony
