Subject: Willard Hess Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 23:18:44 -0500 From: doug weldon Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy.jfk Mr. Willard Hess, President of the company who modified the Lincoln Continental for Kennedy and refurbished it for Johnson, after the assassination, passed away last Sunday evening at the age of 94. I did an extensive video interview with him at his home last August and would speak with him on the telephone every few weeks. He was married for approximately 70 years. It was a very special experience for me to witness the tenderness he showed for his wife. Mr. Hess battled the physical infirmities of age but was able to maintain remarkable mental faculties. His company was more like a family than a business. Though our conversations became more personal in nature Mr. Hess would always inquire about my progress in researching the assassination. His assistance was immeasurable. I would always tell him that my goal was to provide him with the answers during his lifetime. I regret that was not possible but I kept him aware of all of the progress that I had made. There are few rewards in taking positions about the assassination. However, one of the true rewards has been to develop relationships with peple like Willard Hess. Though the truth about the assassination is important our venture through life should always be more about the people we share that venture with. My prayers go out to Mrs. Hess and the Hess family. God bless you Willard Hess. I will not forget you. Doug Weldon
