My Apartment at the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry

Here are a few pictures of my ninth-floor apartment that I took just before we left for Baomo Garden on the 6th of March, 2005.

The view to the southeast. The buildings in the immediate foreground are living quarters for students and junior staff. The houses with the red roofs are a new development for rich people. This is about as clear as it gets in Guangzhou.

A closer view of the panorama to the southeast. The fountain is on the grounds of the rich-people's development.

The view to the southwest. Only the partial building on the far right belongs to GIG. The others are for a different university.

Looking directly south. You can see two of the gates to the institute, one at tle bottom left and another in the distant center.

A closer view to the south, showing the railroad tracks in the distance. The go in the direction of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

My living room/dining room.

The kitchen.

My bedroom. looking to the west.
