Airplane Ride

Li Mei and I finally got our airplane ride, the last one after the show had ended. But it was a lot of fun. It was i a twin-engine Beechcraft. I got to sit in the copilot's sets, which turned out to be not so good for photographing as I had expected.

Here the pilot is going through the checklist before taking off.

Talking to the control tower.

Now we're up. Ottawa and the Ottawa River are in the distance. On the other side of the river is Quebec, with Gatineau Park on the far left. That big road is the Trans-Canada Highway.

A closer view of Ottawa on the right and Hull, Quebec, on the left.

The backbone of Gatineau Park. The Gatineau River is on the other side, but can't be seen from here.

Now we're coming back to the airfield. We will land on the long runway on the far side.

Final approach to the field.

The local farm country.

Lining up for the runway.

Almost there.
