Fact

   Strong definition: Something known to be true. (It’s a fact.)
Weak definition: Something proposed to be true (Check your facts.)

Prove

   Strong definition: To establish conclusively (100%).
Weak definition: To test (The proof of the pudding is in the eating.)

Five legal “standards of proof”

   Preponderance of evidence (³51%)
Clear and convincing (≈75%)
Beyond a reasonable doubt (≈90%)
To a moral certainty (≈95%–98%)

Absolute (100%)
