Comment on Assassination Theory
Moscow in English to the United Kingdom 2030 GMT 24 November 1963--L
(Excerpts) In its series of special programs devoted to
President Kennedy, Moscow television today showed films of his speech made in
Massachusetts immediately after his election and of his speech from the White
House concerning the rights of American Negroes.
The Moscow television observer (Zorin--ed.) commented that
there is every reason to believe that the president was assassinated by a large
organization and not by one individual, as certain authorities are trying to
make out. This opinion is supported by the murder of Lee Oswald, officially
charged with the assassination. The television observer pointed out that
present-day fascists are trying to revive the ghost of provocateur Van der Lubbe,
who set fire to the Reichstag and thus brought the fascists to power in Germany.
Like the German Nazis, they accuse communists of the murder of the President.
This is obviously absurd, the observer noted, since no one but the enemies of
peace and an easing of international tension profits from John Kennedy's death.
President Kennedy, he stressed, was able to correctly assess the line-up of
forces on the international scene and to take steps toward relaxing tension. He
expressed hope that the new U.S. leadership would follow the road taken by John
Kennedy.
