(Text) Moscow--Moscow radio and television stopped their
transmissions at about 2300 hours local time to announce the mournful news from
New York about the attempt on the life of the president of the United States,
John F. Kennedy, and his death.
This announcement was repeated several times. Then funeral
marches were played over the radio and television network.

The Soviet people are deeply grieved at the sad news of President Kennedy's death. The announcement was made immediately over the Soviet radio and television system. Mournful music is being played in between reports from the United States, and biographical sketches are being broadcast. These biographies stress that President Kennedy was an outstanding American statesman.)
