    (Text) John Fitzgerald Kennedy
    The outstanding American statesman John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on 29 May 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. In 1940 he graduated from Harvard University. From September 1941 until April 1945, J. Kennedy served in the U.S. Navy and took part in World War II in the Pacific theater of military operations. From 1947 until 1953 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress. In 1953 he was elected to the Senate from the state of Massachusetts. In 1960 he was nominated for the post of president by the U.S. Democratic Party. In the same year he was elected U.S. President.
