(Text) New York--It has been officially announced here
that a resident of Dallas, Jack Ruby, has been officially charged with the
murder of Lee Oswald.
It is reported that Ruby, 52, has been arrested six times in
the past 10 years for various offenses, including illegal possession of arms.
The details of Oswald's murder have now become known. Ruby shot him with a
pistol when he was to be put in an armed car to be taken to the county jail.
According to Dallas police officials, extraordinary security
measures had been taken to transfer Oswald to the prison. However, as reported
by foreign news agencies, the police still cannot explain how Ruby got into the
basement of the strictly guarded police headquarters. As reported by these
agencies, Ruby not only could get into the police station, where he later shot
Oswald, but actually felt himself at home there, saying hello to reporters and
inviting them to visit his night club.
Captain Will Fritz of the Dallas police said he had no doubt
that President Kennedy was killed by Oswald. The police will continue to look
for new facts, he added, but the Kennedy assassination case is now closed.
