(Text) New York--The deputy press secretary of the White
House told correspondents in Dallas, Texas, that U.S. President John Kennedy
died at 1400 hours Washington time. In Washington, the U.S. flag is at half-mast
over the White House as a sign of mourning.
In accordance with the Constitution, Vice President L.
Johnson has become president of the United States. Lyndon Johnson has officially
taken the oath as President of the United States.
