The future
Kenneth A. Rahn, Co-chairman
20 April 1999
Is there a future for this kind of JFK conference? Would I consider repeating
it? Obviously, I believe that this format has a future, or else I wouldn't have
put forth the effort in the first place. Given the very positive response from
attendees and students, I am also coming to believe that I would be willing to
do it again, for the second time is always easier than the first time. So I will
actively consider another meeting next spring.
Anyone who has suggestions on how to improve the conference should let me
know. Robert Young suggested that we try to get principals such as witnesses to
attend. I will listen to any other reasonable suggestions. The guiding
principles will remain, however: breadth, openness, respect, abundant time for
discussion, intimate atmosphere, informality, and active participation by
students and teachers of JFK courses.
