Great Wall at Simatai 4
Here's the parking lot. See that tiny wall in the distance? That's how far we had to walk just to walk the wall.
The beginning of our walk to the wall, that tiny little thing far in the distance.
There was a muddy dirt path most of the way. It was being improved in spots, like here. Jinghua and Gail are far ahead, us usual
Gail was VERY relieved to actually make it to the place. She had all but given up. Since we left BNU at 8 a.m. and arrived at the wall about 1:30 p.m., I could understand why. She was like a racehorse out of the gate.
Here is happy Jinghua walking backwards to the wall. :-)
We had to pass by this little dam, which you can also see in the previous picture.
As we climbed, the path got more rugged. This warning was quite appropriate.
Snow also appeared on the ground as we climbed toward the wall.
Jinghua and Gail are very happy that we have almost reached the wall.
