The Capital Opera—Lunch With Mei, Mom, And Friends

The 18th of January was the day of the Capital Opera for us. Mei's mom had done the impossible and arranged to get us into a special showing of the opera for local dignitaries. It was to be the last show before the troupe traveled to Beijing to perform in the spring festival.
But that was in the evening. Before then, we had lunch with two of her mom's old friends. That forms this first series of pictures.

I didn't get the name of this woman on the right.

Deciding about the dishes.

Ray came along, too.

This was Mei's mom's other friend. She is Xie Tan, senior research scientist at the Guizhou Environment Protection Science Research Institute, in Guiyang.

Ray and Ken.
