Getting There 1

To get to Mijocama, we had to drive northward along the Gatineau River to the little town of Gracefield. There we turned to the east and followed a winding road to Mijocama. The day was gorgeous. Enjoy the photos!

Here we are parked briefly along the river. That is Li Mei's husband's arm sticking out.

It's hard to imagine a more beautiful river view than this.

Here are some fresh bales of hay we passed.

We stopped in Gracefield to get some more-detailed information on the road to Mijocama. The tourist agency was in this building. Li Mei and her husband are standing near the car.

The happy travelers.

After turning right, we had to cross the river into the little town of Northfield. You can see the strong religious influence of Roman Catholic Quebec.

Here is the local cemetery, with Jesus on the cross.

This is the bridge we crossed. It looks typical until you get a closer look

Yes, we had to drive over these elevated portions. It wasn't so bad, though. The locals took it in stride, and hardly slowed down.

It would have been fun to walk out onto the bridge, but we had to press on.
