CF gets married
I met C. F. Wei in May 2000 at the spring meeting of the
American Geophysical Union in Washington, D.C. I was giving a poster
presentation on transport of aerosol from Asia to various parts of the Pacific,
and she was the last visitor of the afternoon. We wound up talking for a long
time, and became friends. The next fall, she wrote me that she was getting
married in New Jersey early in 2001 and asked if I could attend. I agreed, and
volunteered to take some photos and make a web show of it so that her relatives
from Taiwan and her friends from all around who couldn't attend could at least
get a feel for what the event was like. She agreed immediately. Then I got the
crazy idea of offering to play trumpet as well, if she didn't have her music
fully lined up yet. (I used to play quite a bit at weddings, and really enjoy
it. Trumpet and organ are a special musical combination.) She agreed instantly
to both suggestions.
That's the story behind this little photo show "CF gets
married." The rehearsal was on the afternoon of January 20th, 2001, in the
Kirkpatrick Chapel at Rutgers University. The ceremony was the next Saturday,
the 27th. I had a lot of fun playing and taking the pictures, and I hope you
enjoy them, too.
