Family Reunion in Michigan, August 2008
On the weekend of 14–17 August 2008, the Haslett family had a reunion in and around Niles, Michigan. I came from Rhode Island, my sister Marge came from California, and we joined our Haslett cousins from Niles and from South Bend, Indiana. On Friday the 15th we visited the Hubert Haslett cousins at their house on Dewey Lake. On Saturday the 16th we attended an open house at the former Claude Haslett farmstead, now owned by Karen and Steve Persa. On Sunday the 17th, Marge and I visited to nearby cemeteries and viewed the graves of some of our ancestors, most notably those who had made the trek from eastern Pennsylvania by covered wagon nearly 200 years ago.
