Mongolia, April 2006
From April 2nd to 6th, 2006, Gao Qingxian and I had the
chance to visit Mongolia to learn more about the composition of its desert soils
and to think about how we could cooperate with our new Mongolian friends. The
visit was hosted by Dr. Ochirbat Batkhishig of the
Institute of Geography, who is Mongolia's leading soil scientist, and Ms. Amgaa
Gambat of the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. Most of our time was spent
visiting these institutes and talking with their scientists. We got outside of
Ulanbaatar once, however, to visit the Hustai National Park and see the newly
reintroduced wild horses.
As always, I recommend that you view these pictures
full-screen (F11 in the MicroSoft world).
