Mongolia April 2011
Near the end of my March–April 2011 visit to Tsinghua
University (Beijing), I had the opportunity to visit Mongolia for a second time.
(The first had been in April 2006, with my friend Gao Qingxian.) This time it
was at the invitation of Ms. Ariunaa Ganbat, sister of my friend Amgaa Ganbat.
Ariunaa is a teacher in the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology of the
National University of Mongolia, and offered me the chance to come and give a
talk in her department. I agreed, and spent two days there (not counting
traveling).
Here I offer a few photos from the trip. They are from Ulanbaatar,
from the department, and from a new resort area being
developed outside of town. Enjoy!
