Trail of the molten land 2

    The second part of our walk along the Trail of the Molten Lands.

This picture shows a large "lava ball."

The depression is the remnants of a "chute" along which the lava flowed.

A narrower portion of the chute.

A view toward the northwest from a local high point. You can see some snow-capped peaks in the Cascades, as well as the beginning of the butte on the far right.

Another chute-like structure.

Rugged stuff.
